1.6 short block - gatherin parts for the conversio

well after 220k on my 1.3 I am finally hearing a rod starting to knock.
So I have picked up a 1.6 short block and have a few ??,s

I searched alot and got tired of reading.

I know i have to buy an adapter plate and motor mount conversion. I know I can use my intake and Header.

Can I use my 1.3l head on the 1.6 block (have a Calmini cam to put in if I can use this head as well)? If so, will I need a timing belt for a 1.6l? I would assume so due to the block being taller?

I am also unclear whether or not I can use all of my pulleys off of the 1.3 or do I need to pick up all 1.6l pulleys?

any other tips would be appreciated, this is a daily driver so the conversion will need to go smoothly over a long weekend and I will need to be sure to have all necessary parts on hand when the swap is started.

thanks,

Re: 1.6 short block - gatherin parts for the conversio

you can reuse eveything from the 1.3
yes some will have to be altered

the belt will have to be the 1.6 timing belt
redrill the crank pully to keep the v-belt

Sweeeet!! thanks, GA ZUK, that's what I wanted to hear,
by using my pulleys, and the 1.6 timing belt, does the 1.6 belt have square teeth like my 1.3?

I'm hoping my engine can hold out til Jan. but my knocking seems to be getting louder by the day, I have a trip planned to Hawaii and cant afford a damn thing til then
