Calmini DL 6.5:1

Howdy,
I finally did my taxes in August and got back my check the other day. $1800! Now why in the hell did I put it off so long?!

Anyways, I'm looking at upgrading my 4:1 t-case in Sam#2 to a lower 6:1 unit and leaving the diffs at 3.73. I'm giving the Calmini DL a hard look. I noticed that Spidertrax is carrying it now, so it must be good. I also did a search and saw that several folks on here have them now. What do you guys think of them? I'm curious as to how loud they are. Are they factory quiet or are they noticeably louder?

Any opinions on these compared to the set that Roadless Gear (GRSIII) and Asian Auto (Sumo II) sell?

Re: Calmini DL 6.5:1

I got the 6.5:1 set and I love them as much as I have been able to drive it. Only got about 2 hrs time on them but they are super low and quieter than the stock case I had in it. Now I am waiting on my new empty case to get here so I can swap the gears over into it and try it again, only with more support to the case from the arms. Some sort of bucket including more mounting points to hold the case in one piece.

Mighty nice of you fellas letting the gov'ment use your money interest-free all this time! It IS your money you know, but at today's interest and investment rates you've only lost about $5..and the use of your money until now!!

Yah, if I had my money earlier I would have bought 2 suzukis, a jetski, and a big winch.
No wait, I already did that, ehehee

Well, it looks like I won't be in the market for one afterall. It looks like I'll be spending the next year in Afghanistan. That sucks.

Re: Calmini DL 6.5:1

I'm self employed and I am supposed to send in my estimated taxes quarterly. I don't do that and I have to pay a penalty when I file. The penalty is less of a hassle and inconvenience then having to send huge chunks of money to the govt every 3 months.

Of course when you don't have any taxes withheld, you don't get a refund, either.

Re: Calmini DL 6.5:1

Too bad about going to Afghanistan but thanks for taking your turn.

However, this is still a good question so I'd still like to see it answered by more. So far the only response shows a broken t-case.
