How I spent the day another cage

My buddy needed a cage in his Tj and he lives out of state so
We mocked his cage up in my partners Tj. then pulled it to put it in the customer/friend that drove in from Detroit, heres a few shots

Hers the jeep its going into

On a Tj the floor is doable thick with an air gap so we sleeved teh floor similar to the way a steering box is done, it has 1/4" plate on top and Bottom of the jeep

After some test fitting of Erics Factory soft top side supports the cage was then painted to match the rest of the stock cage

For those that wonder about the top bar, Tjs have a funky latch system for there Hard and Soft tops so it has to be placed 5" behind the winshield inorder for the bracket to swing into place (I think jeep [bleep] them selves but I dont own one so)

The soft top latch is user friendly in that you dont have to feed the leading edge of the softop into a channel . They have made the softop more carlike in its attachment . But it does really pork you in placement of the bar . It still looks nice though . As always nice work Rat .
