Wheeling and New Cage pics

Here are a few pics of me wheeling today & my new square tube exo-cage (yeah flame away).

The reasons I chose square tube are:
Itís easy to work with (no bending)
Itís VERY BEEFY 1.5 x 3/16
Itís about 1/3 the price 60ft = $105 including tax
Total weight = 122 lbs
Welding and cutting were free

After flopping on my side several times I eventually shattered the front glass and destroyed the windshield frame and top metal.

This cage will not only protect me but the windshield and targa as well. I can also run a factory soft top with the cage in place.

Everything is welded to the frame via the rock sliders. Corners are all gusseted and supported well.

This is stage one of three that will eventually include front & rear bumpers, and possibly a winch for the front.

No rolls today but I did scrape hard along a creek-bed wall with nothing touching the windshield frame so no damage done!

Don't have a host so you have to click on the attachments to view the pics.

It's nice having a Bitch to get the gate, air down your tires and lock your hubs.

Re: Wheeling and New Cage pics

Looks funny, but seems functional when you posted those action shots.

Re: Wheeling and New Cage pics

Yeah, a little different but looks were secondary. Protecting my skull, windshield and being able to still run the full top were primary.
