Transmission NOT engagning - HELP?

Tonight something went wrong. Here's the scenerio:

IT felt like the transmission was slipping - like an automatic will do when it's going bad. Then finally everything went out and I drove home VERY slowly. The car will drive but when I hit the accelerator the RPMs climb but the car doesn't accelerate. The trans makes no funny noises. It's a relatively new Centerforce 2 clutch so I'm hoping it's not that. Could this be something as simple as a bad throwout bearing? I'm stumped. I'll be up all night pulling this thing to see what the problem is if anyone wants to give me some advice...

Did I tell you I hate Samurais?

Re: Transmission NOT engagning - HELP?

Your clutch cable might be frozen. The clutch pressure plate has integrated springs to clamp on the clutch disc, so all the other springs etc do not matter unless they are frozen pushing on the clutch.

The throwout bearing will engauge the clutch (unless it's stuck), if it were to be bad (NOT STUCK!) it would not interfear with the clutch pressing on the disc.

Re: Transmission NOT engagning - HELP?

Where does your clutch engage? If it engages near at or near the top of the pedal then I would say try adjusting the clutch cable, and if not then I would say maybe the clutch is gone. By the sounds of it, the problem has something to do with the clutch not engaging.

Re: Transmission NOT engagning - HELP?

i'm out, over, done. Once this clutch/tranny problem is fixed/over both Zuks are going on eBay. I feel like I'm being told by forces greater than me that it's time to get out. I also found a hearse that I'm going to buy....hopefully it'll be the death of me .

Re: Transmission NOT engagning - HELP?

Now Pauly thats crazy talk if you would just quit doing those second gear burn outs and trying scare the school kids the Zuk will behave. Besides what am I gonna do the next time I need a motor if you drop out of the Sammi scene? I won't have a reason to drive 8 hours, crash at my sisters house, then drive another hour and a half to get to your place. I just love that drawbridge in DC on I-95 that opens for any old reason at high noon! Anyway best of luck and hope you hang in there.
