Daily Drivers - When is it no longer a DD ??????

Just curious about daily drivers....
And I know this is purely subjective.......

When in the evollution of our suspensions does it no longer become a safe, drive with confidence daily driver?

Inspection? what's that? 5:29 gears, 6;1 tcase 35"boggers, 16 valve, Very flexy suspention, etc...drive it to work 2 or 3 days a week minimum. Shocks make the suspention livable on the street.

For me, it depends on how the truck is built in the first place, if good quality, profesional grade work and materials was put into the design and construction of the suspension then most average trail-ready rigs should be safe to drive every day on the road. I say average because some of your more off-road oriented trucks and buggys would draw way too much attention from the local authorities to able to drive on the road ( At least here in Winnipeg ) without too much hassle.

once you the owner has built it to the point you dont want to drive it on the street anymore. used to run a 47 willys with 40s on the street every day. narrya problem. funny looks, but never a problem. after bout flippin it at 55, decided it was time to lower it some.... Suspensions, heck when the tires stick out from the body it's not safe to drive on public roads. Have a little respect for who might be behind you....

Guess you shouldn't drive so close to me then. Mine stick out 7.5 inches

I don't think my rig is geared tall enough to throw rocks at the person behind me... and I'd hate to see the bugger that gets released from the lugs. My steering will probably be my deciding factor on how far I drive it. I am going full hydro and I think it may be a bit sketchy... we'll see though. The attractive quality of the f250 I bought will help keep it off the road too. I am saving for a trailer now!

The outside of my flare is in the dead center on my 35x14.50 boggers.

When I went to lifted YJs and missing links was when I decided to buy a daily driver. I drive 50 miles of freeway and backroads a day and it was getting scary with the soft suspension and 33" thunder turkeys stickin' out 5" each side.
