Saturn Motor in Samurai??

Can it be done? My buddy Mike has a 1.9L DOHC 4cl sitting in the garage. I was looking at it and thought it would fit in the zuk. But wouldnt know what type of tranny would work with it. Anyone ever thought of it? Or is it not worth thinking about. I bet it would run great in a zuk.

Re: Saturn Motor in Samurai??

There is a guy who put that motor in a toyota crawler over on the pirate 4x4 board. I belive what he ended up doing was taking the bellhousing from the saturn and the toyota and cutting them in half and welding one back together to make a hybrid bellhousing,,

It probably isn't a good swap, cause there are no motor mounts on the side you would have to build a support bar in front of your rad to hang the engine off. then swap gas tanks to get enough psi for the injectors, get all the wireing harness, etc!! but hey i would be very impressed to see it done!!!

Re: Saturn Motor in Samurai??

It's Scott from RockStomper that did it in a Toy. I saw some posts on PBB about it.

Re: Saturn Motor in Samurai??

As I recall, a lot of poeple were goofing on him as it is a rather ****ty motor that is weaker then the stock Toy motor, and likes to pop head gaskets.

I would pass on that one.. Sometimes free stuff ain't worth it.

I always thought that where there's a will there is a dead person... (sorry.)

I too think that it's a waste of time -- lots of work for not much gain.
