Lengthening my Samurai\'s wheelbase by 2 inches?

I have an 86 Samurai, SPOA, with 32's. The spring pads that I got able me to lengthen my wheelbase by 2 inches. I have 2 1 inch driveshaft spacers to make up for the lift. Now I want to lengthen it those 2 inches, but dont want to spend a couple to a few hundered for a custom driveshaft. Is there any chance 2 inch driveshaft spacers? Is there any other truck that I can use a driveshaft from that has more travel? I was hearing that I could use a 4 runners front for my front but not sure if that is true.

Front or rear d-shaft extention??
If it's the rear, go with the yoter shaft and rock's adapters (maybe use your spacers too if needed).

If you're wondering on the front, seems you'll have to drop some $$ to get that done correctly.

Contact Brent at Trail Tough. He has an extended slip yoke drive shaft that may address your problem.

This is a discription from the www.trailtough.com internet site.

"Trail Tough's extended slip yokes Extended slip yokes available 1" or 2" longer than stock. These can be used with the stock shaft portion of your driveline and do not cause an increase in u-joint operating angle as do the spacers".

1" slip yoke
Item # SES-401 Price $65.00 each - exchange
2" slip yoke
Item # SES-402 Price $65.00 each - exchange

Re: Lengthening my Samurai\'s wheelbase by 2 inches?

Call around.

A local driveshaft shop quoted me $100 to lengthen and rebalance my shaft. I have a toyota shaft Im using in the rear and Im pretty sure I want to take my stock rear shaft and get it extended to use up front.

Also, be careful with moving your axles around. You can move em a little but a bunch and you will start hitting stuff. I've moved my front forward about 2 inches and hit the front of the wheel wells (spring under). I moved the rear back a little and its fine, but too much and you will hit the gas tank or the fenders.
