How long will a tranny last with no oil in it?

It was starting to get hard to put my tranny in gear & to shift gears almost like the clutch wasn't fully disengaging. I just did my 16v motor swap & bolted on a new clutch & the tranny out of a 88.5 Samurai at the same time.
Well, I figured out why it was getting hard to shift...I forgot to put gear oil in the tranny . I put oil in it & it's shifting better. Now is it still gonna crap out before long since I drove it for like 50 to 100 miles with no oil in the tranny?
Yes I am an absent minded idiot

Put some fresh oil in since the stuff you have in there will be probably be dirty, and drive it.
Making any odd noises?
Shifting better, like as in normal?

Well if you drove it 50 - 100 miles with no gear oil I am sure that you will have some excessive gear wear. Fill it with oil then drive it a few miles and then drain it to flush out the metal, then don't forget to fill it back up!
The good news is that if you droe it then the 16V must be up and running.
