2\" Body Lift, how hard is it, Homemade?

I am thinking of adding a 2" body lift. I have some 2" inch body lift spacers from another kit (not Samurai) but I think it would work fine with longer bolts ect. How much trouble is a 2" body lift on a Sammy? I have done a 2" on a tracker and it was pretty easy. Your imput is appreciated.

Hey birdie..

Why a body lift?? Need clearance?

If you're set on doing it it's purdy straight forward... just allow for the extra length needed ofr wiring and other lines and such...

Watch the brake lines near the firewall and the fill pipe for the gas tank. Otherwise its easy.

from what i've heard it's a pice of cake, but i wouldn't know since mine came with a 2" body lift when i bought it. that's enough to fit 31's without any rubbing. (no rubbing after i pounded the wheelwell lip flat and cut off the front bumper)
see the attached pic.

I bought a sami with a 3" body lift in it...

It was the first mod. REMOVING IT!!! It was a pain in the butt to get the bolts lined up all at once. of course, I do all the work myself, so if you got friends, you are one step ahead of me...

It's pretty easy, I made my own using some longer bolts and the "capture nuts", which are 1.5" long nuts that connect the stock studs to your longer bolts. A decent hardware store should carry the metric ones you need. You'll need 6 of them as the other 4 are just longer bolts.
