Re: 8v to 16v

If you could get the entire harness from the donor vehicle it wouln't be all that bad. It would be a direct swap out. It's not like a sammi swap where you need adapters and a custom harness. I say go for it!

Re: 8v to 16v

I'll back what NC_zuk said.

being you have a tracker already all you would need is the [complete] harness from a donor vehicle. Seeing how you have a tracker I don't think you would need the [underdash] part of the harness though, but you would need the computer for the 16 valve none-the-less. HTH bud.

Re: 8v to 16v

Yes it would bolt to the tranny. The bell housing is the same on the 8v and 16v motors. It would be an easy swap if you have a good moptor and the wiring harness as stated earlier. hth

Re: 8v to 16v

Is it true that the 8v intake manifold won't bolt to the 16v head? Even with some modification?

Yes, that is true. It will not fit. You would need the 16v Exhaust manifold to make it work. Thanks for pointing that out, I had forgotten!!

Re: 8v to 16v

Huh?

I would just use a 16v header anyways, but what prevents the 8v intake from bolting up to the 16v head?

Doing this would eliminate half of the work of a swap, as swapping the wiring harness is a PITA.

Re: 8v to 16v

OOPS! I missed a word in my last post. Neither the intake or exhaust manifolds from an 8v will bolt on to the 16v. They just dont fit
