Are You Over The Hump ???............

Just curious....... Is your rig past the "hump" (almost where you want it to be), or is it in the beginning stages of it's evollution?

For the time being, mine is in it's final stages of completion.... that is till I get another flame up my tail to build it differently.

For now, I'm very happy with what I have.....

Re: Are You Over The Hump ???............

I thought I was....but NO. I enjoy tinkering with it, there is almost nothing left to modify or change. Besides the body(its not even the original body)/frame, the only stock parts are the brake booster and transmission, and the transmission is getting replaced this winter. I have been collecting the parts to build up another rig (someday), it will be a long term project I can tinker with.

Re: Are You Over The Hump ???............

I think mine is almost done. My rust free '86 hardtop is my daily driver and is only mildly modified with OME springs in SPUA, Trail Tough t-case gears, Willamette 2.5 backset wheels and 30" tires. There are other incidentals like a Yakama Load Warrior rack and Trail Tough bumpers front and rear.

The only thing I really want is to reupholster the interior and get a kayak on the top. There may be a 1.6, 16 valve in the future or even a 2.0 DOHC but the old 1.3 seems to be running good and strong.

Now that I think of it, I would like Trail Tough tow bar, also a full floater rear end with disk brakes. ARB lockers would sure be nice too. Eagle Alloy wheels would sure look good with a set of BFG ATs.

Maybe I am not done.

Re: Are You Over The Hump ???............

Not even close. I've just begun the second round of build-ups on my blue tintop by cutting out the wheelwells and installing YJ flares on the back. The fronts will be done this week, the rocker guards before winter, the interior needs to be finished, the rust has to be delt with. And the SPOA, welll.....

Re: Are You Over The Hump ???............

Not even close Crow, I have barely gotten started. And thats not considering the other 2 Sami projects!

I still have the cargo rack (just completred) to grow into an external cage, SPOA, engine swap, plus all the
little in between Things those things require to complete. Not to memtion creature comforts to finish inside...
