Re: Additional Mods

I haven't done any 4x4ing yet. I just picked it up on Sept 6th. Most of the mods were done by the previous owner. Let me tell you man I've got the bug bad. I want to do all kinds of things to this Sami.

I want to get the engine running better then gain a little tire clearance and then about everything else. I just don't know where to start.

Take it easy.

Here is my Suggestion. Just go with the Shrockworks Gastank Skid and Shrockworks front winch Bumper. Not only will you get a discount for buying both (if you buy them direct from Shrockworks), but it is my opinion that they are both better products. Check it out,

Re: Additional Mods

Correct me if i'm wrong. I didn't see it listed. You'll need to add a Lock-Rite (or two) to your mod list. It's the best (or darn close) upgrade you'll do to your Zuk!

Re: Additional Mods

Well I live in Wayne which is about 40 minutes from Detroit. The murder capital of the world. I hear that outside Flint there is a place called the Mounds, it is suppose to be a blast. I'm looking forward to taking a trip there.

Lock-Rite's? I've read about lockers and have seen a lot of people have them listed but I'm not to sure what they are. What would I would have to do to install them? Do I want both front and back? what type of lockers to use? Is it just an add-on type of mod or do I have to add different axles? You'll have to forgive my ignorance but I'm very green when it comes to this off-road stuff. But I'm reading and learning everyday. Thanks to all.

Been lookin for someone close to kick it with, I know many people with Trackers, but can't seem to get them motivated. Re: Additional Mods

Not in order of importance.......

Thorley header (w TT system)........

Power steering.........

Cage...your choice

I wouldn't recomend the Calmini rack. Pug's rusted badly in no time while during that same time my Garvin Wilderness rack looks spankin' new.......

You might want to consider defining what function this rig is to perform and that will help map out future mods........

Re: Additional Mods

Welcome to our inter family here on the ORC ..

There are alot of good vendors out there to buy from, I would do a search on here and see whats been said about people thats bought from these vendors in the past.

I myself ,I haven't ever bought anything from RRO soI can't say if there good or bad !But I will say thats the first time i have EVER in my 6 years of zukin seen some one say I'll only buy it if i can get it from RRO.

Ive bought from many other the vendors

Trail Tough - Great people to deal with
Aftermarket4x4 - Great people to deal with
Hawks- Great people to deal with
NCOR - Great People to deal with.
Petro works - Great people to deal with

Now If I was running 31 inch tires I would do a GRSII rather then the GRSI , Better gearing for the 31's

Roll cage is a must if you plain of off-roading

Locker or spool

Just check around before putting your money out. with whos had trouble with who and who has had good sercive out of who.

Buying used is one way to go also and this BBS is a great place to buy from. Just a thought...
