GV engine question

I have been offered to buy a 2.7 v6 engine off a friend who totaled his xl-7 "very cheap". I own a 2001 GV with 95000 miles on . I know I don't need to replace the engine any time soon but traveling back and forth to work I can put on 35000 in 1 year.Is the 2.5 the same as the 2.7 ? Would it be complicated to swap the engine when I needed it
