Need help flipping rear seat

Last night I was removing my '97 Tracker's carpet inorder to get it ready for applying bed liner in it, and came found out that the rip cord for flipping the seat forward was missing. I got it earlier in the year and never noticed it before now, since I didn't have a need to flip it. I removed the front two bolts and I cannot get it to even budge. I tried poking a screw driver in the hole(where the rip cord should be) to see if it would release, but no luck. Does anyone know I can fix this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Don

Re: Need help flipping rear seat

It might be possible to slip a bent piece of wire, (think wire coat hangar end) under the seat forward and then engage the claw portion of the latch. Then you could pull rearward to release the claw off the hook that is on the floor.

Otherwise that might be a toughie...

Thanks, I tried the coat hanger from the front and couldn't get it to work. But I was able to bend a loop in it and with using a small light was able to slip it over the release pin and presto. Now I just got to find something to attach to it.
