GM Alt fusing

I have a 120amp GM Alt on my zook. I want to redo the wiring for the exciter and the output. The alternator shop told me that I can plug the exciter cable on the output cable with no worry (Ive been running it that way for 8month). But for safety I would like to put a fuse on the excitor wire just in case.

Does anyone have a clue on how many amp a alternator dans pull ?

thanks.

Re: GM Alt fusing

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Many vehicles came wired like that. If the charge wire is protected with a fuse or fusable link, no worries.
