Re: GRS1...GRS2...?

GRS I is a 4:16 t-case, GRS II is a 4:89 reduction. HTH....a GRS III and IV, I guess would be the 5:89, and the 6:1.

Re: GRS1...GRS2...?

GRS stands for Gear Reduction System. With the GRS I it changes the t-case gearing to 4.16:1 giving you a 12% gear reduction in Hi range and 83% in Lo. The GRS II is 4.89:1 thats 18% Hi and 118% Lo. Along with helping to pull bigger tires it also changes your ability to crawl. With stock gearing in the pumpkins GRS I gives you a crawl ratio of about 47:1. GRS II brings it down to 66:1. By changing the R&Ps you can even get these numbers down to 100:1 but unless you plan on doing some industrial strength rock crawling that's way to low for a daily driver.
I run the GRS II and it pulls 31s just fine, and I can keep up with the big kids, who have thousands invested in gears, with no sweat.

Re: GRS1...GRS2...?

Also note..

"GRS" is what I would refer to as a brand name too.. being the Petroworks brand of tcase gears. I have heard peopel say I got a GRS1 but they have a calmin kit etc.. so it's not REALLY a 'GRS1' just a Calmini 4.16 Crawler or whatever they call it.
There are other "brands"

Re: GRS1...GRS2...?

I do that too toyguy. I don't know why though, everyone on here is always willing to jump in and answer a question no matter how basic it seems. for example, I always wondered what a rocklobster t-case was, just the other day there was a post on it and my questions were answered.
