Say it three times(stock shocks)

Ok I admit it once again I'm totally confused. So tell me outright I have a stock 88.5 softtop that needs shocks
want a softer ride (If possible)So what do I get and is it cheaper to buy them and get them installed or take to a shop and let them do it all
I have no torch or garage I am just a grass mechanic

Re: Say it three times(stock shocks)

Come on, shocks are the easiest thing to replace. There's only 8 nuts that hold all 4 on. My 5 yr. old nephew helped me put mine on.

I'm guessing yours is factory? Go to Autozone & get Gabriel shocks for an 88.5 samurai. About $40 & 30 min. worth of work later........you'll still be riding like a log truck (with new shocks).

Or, if you just like handing out money, I'll come put them on & only charge you $20 a min. labor. I'll throw in the nephew for free.

Brad.

you could do it with a adjustable wrench and 30 minutes of your time, no big deal, take that money you wanted to spend on the shop and buy a lil tool set...serves ya better

Mike, what tire pressure are you running in your tires? They will ride a LOT rougher with the tires over inflated. Samurai vehicle specs recommend 22 psi in the tires and they ride smoother on the highway with about 20 lbs. With 32 lbs they will jar your kidneys and rattle any loose teeth you may have.
