Spare tire with lockers?

I just installed a rear locker, and realized that my smaller spare tire is now worthless, if i get a flat rear tire. Am I right, or is it ok to drive short distances with one tire smaller than the other? Seems like it would tear up the axles. Thanks

Re: Spare tire with lockers?

if you are rear-locked and need to run the smaller spare put it upfront, un run a fron tire in the rear...

be careful though... steering might be erratic

its more of a trail-cure than the ultimate solution, but i guess you could give it a shot

bye

Re: Spare tire with lockers?

I actually bought a whole third member with a Detroit locker already installed. My old one was shot. A friend of mine installed his own and he said anyone could do it.
