DON\'T use Armor All on your soft top?

I thought I read somewhere that your not supposed to use armor all or Son of a Gun on your soft top. Is this true? Also how many different ways can you configure your soft top? I know you can roll up the back flap but I also thought I read somewhere that you can roll up the sides? *scratches head* I can't find where I read it at.

I think the Kaylines are the only ones that roll up on the sides .

Re: DON\'T use Armor All on your soft top?

A friend of mine who used to own BMWs had some info about Armor All that seemed to indicate that if you use it the surface becomes "addicted" to the stuff. If you put it on constantly it is fine (though shiny..ugh!) but if you discontinue use it can actually contribute to drying and cracking through some sort of chemical reaction.

Wish that was more authorative sounding. I'll see if I can get him to give me a reference on this.

Yea, the ones that can roll up the sides are designed to do so. They have zippers on the sides near the traga bar. They do cost more that a regular top but I think it is worth the extra money. When my top poops out I'm gonna get one myself!
