Removing Shifter Console ....

Hey everyone me again ...
I wanted some ideas around here ..
I decided to remove my console because i find it MUCH nicer .. but it need a little work so im wondering what do you all think would be a good idea .. and also give me new ideas if possible .. I was thinkging some chrome to cover the space .. or new carpet job ... any other ideas ?? plz help hehe here are some pictures of before and after ..

How bout just cutting the carpet out that covers the hump and either leave it bare or paint it whatever color you like

I gutted all the carpet and removed the console brackets in my Tracker. I just installed a larger shift boot that I picked up at either Auto Zone or Advance Auto.
