Another Rear up front question

hey folks,

i've got two sets of rear springs in the shed and was thinking of using one of the sets up front in my zook.

for those of you that have done it, how'd you do it?
i like the look of the RRO kit but i'm looking to booty fab up my own.

so, any measurements that you may have could be very useful and greatly appreciated.

I was thinking of making a bracket that move the rear eye of the front spring back 2" and down 1", then adding a 1" over stock shackle to the front.

However, I'm not to cluey on how to keep pinion angles accurate for on road driving.

Re: Another Rear up front question

Did mine 1" back 1" down, and the axle is sitting approximately 0.5" to the front, my pinion angle is about the same as before, but the bumpsteeer got very bad (I'm SPUA and with no steering correction)

Re: Another Rear up front question

i'm spua also, as i can't legally do spoa here in australia and I'm not building a trailer queen. just re-building something that I can have fun in and be functional both on and off-road.

i use to have 3" springs and 32" BFGs.

i'm now on stock springs and am looking to go back up to 31s

did you do anything with your front shackle?

Re: Another Rear up front question

I have a longer shackle, manged to get my lazy ass of the chair and snap a picture for you

I also extended the dampertowers 6cm (2") and fitted some long cheapo shocks from a small Nissan.

I run 30" and the tires hit the front of the wheelhouse a bit on compression and full turn, but not very bad.

Feel fre to ask more questions If you got any.

Is that you TIM?

If it is I guess you know I had my spook for sale not so long ago. well I had no sniffs so I decided to keep it and only do mods to it that are relatively legal, or not overly noticeable by the pigs. Plus stuff i can do in a weekend is a bonus,e specially if it doesn't required any welding
