Lucas 80/145 oil to heavy? reccomendations?

I picked up a case of lucas 80/145 at a auction 10 bottles
for $40. thought I would grab it up and eitheir use it or sell it.

Any thoughts on how this would run in my samurai? I live in wisconsin and she gets might cold in the winter.

I hear you can add the stuff to your engine oil also, I believe most folks are using the 80/90 or 75/90 synthetic but they are almost impossible to find.

Anyway it was a good buy.

New clutch going in a week from monday and I plan on a change of all fluids front to back.

Re: Lucas 80/145 oil to heavy? reccomendations?

Im runnin 140 in the rearend full strength and about 60/40 in the tcase. I love the stuff. The rear is full strength to make up for the gear that is shot. May sound stupid but it works. Plus it keeps my chunk with the locker from doin the daily driving duties. It really quietens things down. Its NOT a fix jus a mear cover up but it does work well for that purpose.

If you sell it I am interested. I have a Pinzgauer coming and they are noted for gear box noise. Best Regards RR
