Engine Sputtering

88 Suzuki Samurai

- filled up Saturday
- drove approx. 60 Km and parked it for two days
- drove to a local shop and on the way back it started hesitating under acceleration
- tried water remover on about half a tank, left for 8 hours came back to it and it was worse
- filled up the tank and it was better but still not the usual
- could it be bad gas?
- anything I can do to find out quickly what the problem is (troubleshoot)?

Re: Engine Sputtering

Start with your fuel filter, then check vaccum lines. Its probably not the ignition system, but give a quick look at your coil and grounding wires to make sure they're intact. Could be a sensor going bad on the carb, not likely though.
