Do I need backspaced rims?

I would like to run a 35/12/50 with series 589 rims. I know that the tires will
hit the leafs when turning. And they don't make a backspaced 589. lengthend dana 44s mybe?

Re: Do I need backspaced rims?

If you really want to run the 589's, try a set of Spidertrax 1" wheel spacers. I was considering the spacers to keep my Swampers(on 3-3/4" BS) from hitting the springs in the front, but opted for a set of Marsh beadlocks with 2" backspacing instead. The wheel spacers are great if you've already invested in a set nice wheels. If you haven't bought wheels though, I'd recommend a shallower backspacing than the 3.5"-3.75" that comes standard on most wheels.
