Can anyone help?
When it's fairly warm outside, the temperature on my 91 sammy likes to run high, coming close to overheating, the only way I can bring it down is by turning on the heat full blast. When it's cold outside, the temperature barely gets up to normal operating temperature, if at all.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Re: overheating/overcooling

Sounds like the cooling system is clogged not allowing enough circulation. Have you checked the thermostat and/or flushed the system? Perhaps it's just the radiator that's clogged. If none of the above then maybe it's a faulty temp sending unit.

Re: overheating/overcooling

Maybe it's the thermostat...........or lack of one.Without a 'stat in the hole the water flows to quickly through the radaitor to remove any heat when you need it gone and runs to cold in cold weather when u need heat.many peolple remove it thinking that its better but its not,and if you want to run without the 'stat you still need the restricter plate that that you would get if you cut the center out of it
