Rock Hopper Gears

Has anyone ever heard of "Rock Hopper" transfer case reduction gears?
If so are they good or bad, and what do they cost?

Thanks

Re: Rock Hopper Gears

I saw Rockhoppers gearsets on an Australian website (www.grpauto.com.au)but I
didn't see any prices.I believe they give the same reduction as the 4.16 t-cases that most of the vendors sell here.

Re: Rock Hopper Gears

I am under the impression that Rocky Road is trying to get set up as a US vendor for the RockHopper gears. Not sure about the specifics.

Re: Rock Hopper Gears

Rockhopper gear reductions are sold by Greg Page who also owns GRP Automotive in Sydney Australia. The gearsets are made in Japan for Greg and are of the highest quality. Greg is a busy guy as his shop is the best known Suzuki shop in Australia and he also does a lot of work to Toyota and Nissan 4x4's. Greg is not into the web or PC's in a big way and I don't think he checks his email very often so it would be far better to phone or fax him. GRP is installing a 1.6 16v efi and rockhopper series 2 in my zook at the moment.

Re: Rock Hopper Gears

You might want to e-mail Jerry Lenstra at GRP. My initial conversation was with Greg but he has since refered me to Jerry. His e-mail address is [email protected] Current price I was quoted as of 3/23/00 was 1590.00 (AU)this roughly converts to 1000.00 U.S.last time I checked. This included shipping to my door. Parts were in stock at that time. As of this evening I am in the process of ordering a set for my Tracker.

Re: Rock Hopper Gears

You can see some basic information on the Rockhoppers up at our website. We'll be importing the gears for GRP and it looks like they'll be ready for sale sometime in June of this year. http://www.rocky-road.com/sidekick.html
