emergency switch

I need to get the emergency flasher switch off of the top of the steering columm from my '87. I took the gauges apart for cleaning, and now I can't get the top to allen bolts (hex screws) back in (the ones that are visible). But I can't pull the whole thing out with that emergency flasher switch there, please help.

Re: emergency switch

Look up under your dash there is a couple very large torqs screws holding your steering column up, loosen or remove the two screws and the steering column will drop down enough for you to put the faceplate back on without damaging the emergency switch.

87-88 Sam

I remove Sam instrument all time to do wiring, E sw
is a tight fit however by tilting and turning it is
possible to remove and extract whole panel by playing
around with it make sure E sw is depressed downward.
