New Sammy guy needs engine

I finally found a Sammy to buy. Its funny sometimes how fate pushes you in certain directions.

Anyhow, the Sammy I found is in quite nice condition (for Northeast PA) but has no engine.

This isnt a big deal. I have built a number of engines (never a Suzuki) and have a small machine shop in my garage.

I am in search of a 1.3 block or engine in or near Pennsylvania. Any leads would be appreciated.

Re: New Sammy guy needs engine

why not go with the 1.6 from a tracker? Since your at ground zero, probably about the same $$. I wished I had known about the swap
before I rebuilt my 1.3
good luck

Re: New Sammy guy needs engine

Well 2 main reasons.

1) I am too cheap to buy the $250 kit to install a 1.6
2) I am building it for an around town vehicle so I dont care so much about power.

If I could do it without a kit I would consider it.....but this is a low buck project.

Re: New Sammy guy needs engine

I have an engine that would be good for you. I bought a ZUK with the engine pretty much torn apart, or at least the head is. The lower block sits in the vehicle still attached to the tranny. You will probably have to machine both upper and lower heads, get new rods, lifters etc. If you are interested I could probably part with it for a fair price. But you would have to drive down here to MD to look at it and help me get it out of the vehicle %^}. Its from an 87 JX, it even has AC!!
