prices on some custom zuk front end stuff..

....I have gatherd a bunch of prices on all of the custom stuff for the front stock zuk houseing. What setup would be the strongest with the least amount of cost??

Calmini- inner zuk axles 119 a piece (26 spline 4140 alloy,
used with rear side gears)

- birfield cups 99 a pair

Longfields- birfields treated 85 a piece (send in cores to
get treated)

Trail Tough- inner zuk axles 210 a piece (26 spline 4340
alloy,used with rear side gears)

- Custom birfields 100 a piece (outer stub also
i believe)

- rear side gears 35 a piece (that is the only
price on rear side gears I got)

....Now there are other birf rings but calmini seem the best. Also think.. it is possible to use the cups on the longfields. Does any one know how much of a difference there is between 4140 and 4340 alloy, Probably not that big of a price difference huh? I can't see TT's inner shafts being that much stronger than calmini (calmini's are made by same company that does super 35 axles). Which birf would be the strongest? Does any body know were to get new rear side gears cheaper? Just thought I would post this info to make it aware to all those who are interested.

I would get ahold of Tim at North coast and get the Breeze Rings.
2nd I know you dont want to here this but for what you are going to shell out for that stuff if you go toys the investment would be a wash and you wouldnt have to worry about all the how can I beef up my axle. If your going to run 31s forever Ok but if your lookin to go bigger in the future dont waist your money I only talk from experience becuase hine site is 20/20

Hind sight is not only 20/20 , it's razor sharp at that . If I added up all the $$$$ I've got in these stock axles , it would have been half of that to go with Toys including gear changes and lockers, longfields , and a crossover steering . Maybe even power steering at that . And here I sit .....lol

Ya I know that yotas are stronger, but with a setup chosen from that stuff you can wheel locked on 33's fine here in Washington state. Were do you come up with the idea that built axles are only good for 31's? Oh well we shall see how built zuk axles hold up..I will have about 1100 dollars into mine complete, and will be able to turn around and sell um a year or two maybe three later for around that price. I posted this stuff for others to read and know some options for stock axles. besides Rat...I already knew what your reply would be.. but hey anyways!

It's just a repeating cycle of breakage, and I seriously try to wheel it with some sanity since it's my primary , only, daily driver . Stuff just happens , especially to me it seems ....

I also vote for Toyota. I hated the feeling of pulling on to a trail and praying to the axle Gods so my stuff would not break.

I still prey to the axle gods.. different religion though. Its the toy axle gods.. But I can drive over bigger rocks, and steeper ledges b4 I break em. I gotta go longfield so the toys will survive. Then I'll prolly be breaking something else.

As of 5-16-03 we have decided to stop selling longfields! It started out as a hobby to help people and now has become too much for my wife and I. It's getting to be a bigger problem than we can deal with as you can see. we are not interested in selling the business. All of those who have sent in theirs as of 5-16 will be taken care of. Thank you! Bobby Long...
