timing belt tensioner?

I recently replaced my timing belt. And now, when I start her up, the belt wants to move away from the cam and crankshaft sprockets (towards the radiator). I didn't get a new tensioner since they said they didn't have any plus I needed a ride, so I figured I'd try some other stores in the area. No luck. So I'm wondering if the tensioner is worn out. There's a lil play in it and I have the sob tightened down too. If ya can help...I'd really appriciate it. BTW...I do plan on gettin a new one anyways but I was wondering if anyone else had a similar situation or any other advice...thanks

Re: timing belt tensioner?

Does the belt do this when the lower engine pulley is on ? That bottom crank belt pulley acts as the ouside guide for the timing belt ....
