Leaks fixed! almost

Replaced the camshaft seal and distributor O-rings (and timing belt) today. All stiff as plastic, no wonder it leaks! Even got the timing right back. Only surprise was when the distributor housing came off a bunch of oil spilled out..after I wiped it all down to keep dirt out..oh well. Now for the rear tranny seal and the driveway should be dry again

The pulleys rubbed through the plastic timing gear cover..is this normal?

Thanks for the tips Sarge (and the mirror)

Re: Leaks fixed! almost

Glad you got it done . I hate oil leaks , like a dog pissin on yer car , it's just bad . Those covers fit so close to the pulleys it's a wonder they last as long as they do . I think the new covers are only like $30 or so , be sure to get a new dust seal with it .
