Finally Bought a Samurai!

It's an '87, stock with 235s.

My short term plans:

3" longer than stock shackles, 2" spring hanger extensions for a 2.5" lift.
Jeep CJ front springs all around with the rear Sami main leaves up front.
Make a set of 3/16" angle iron rocker panel protectors.
Hand throttle made with bicycle parts.
Bumpstop mods. (tool the swaybar off the other day, didn't make much difference because of the bumpstops)
Custom dash section for garage sale CB, stereo, gauges, and switches.
Undercarriage protection (of some sort, not sure what to do at this point).
Tall shock mounts for the fronts.....F-150 mounts maybe?

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but you get the idea....budget 'wheeler!

Re: Finally Bought a Samurai!

hey, JoJo

glad to hear you did it...

I don't know if you remember, but about a year ago we came into contact (i guess it was a locker thing with my Daihatsu jeep or the revolvers). Keyword: i live down here in chile...

And i got a sami, too a couple of weeks ago...

one of life's little twists that we ride the same material now ;o)

have fun

ps: I took my stock sami out wheeling this weekend... and wow... it really oozed over the nastiest stuff...just like a hoover-craft

just bashed a springhanger a little... but no big deal...
