Circular Filter on Carb

Vehicle 88 Samurai
Sorry for the second post.

I am thinking of custom placing a circular filter on my stock carb. I would like to know what hoses have to be relocated from the stock filter box.
As well, has anyone tried this? Worth the effort? Not really worried about water.

Re: Circular Filter on Carb

you won't notice any power gain. it'll just be louder when you accelerate.

Re: Circular Filter on Carb

i have an oval filter on the carb. the round filter would take too much space and you may have to cut a
hole in the hood if you don't have a body lift. you can get a K&N the shape and size about the original
air-bowl that is fitted on the stock carb. tha k&N part number I think is something like E-3321 or E-322.
I threw away the box so I can't let you know the exact number but the two numbers above should be it.

and........make sure you oil the filter correctly and if you're in a dusty area, you can have added protection
by sealing it wili the K&N sealing grease and also add a pre-filter.

Power gain is minimal for the price you pay, slightly better top end power, better acceleration and very slightly
better fuel consumption. Hey! the best thing......it's washable and re-useable. It is a little louder as the filter sits
atop the carb but the zuki was already loud anyway so it made not much difference for me.
