Samurai question

I am wanting to buy a Sammy but don't want to get
taken advantage of because of my Suzuki ignorance.I
have a few questions I hope someone will answer for
I am looking at an 88 with about 130000 miles on it.
It has a rebuilt engine and supposedly a new tranfer
case. The fellow that is selling it says the 4wd
shifter gets stuck while trying to put it in 4wd. He
did not use or know much about the 4wd system and
neither do I. He did say he did not lock the hubs
though, if that makes any difference in the ability
to shift it while parked.
What should I be on the lookout for?
Besides the usual used vehicle questions, are there
any Sammy specific questions I should ask?
Any advise?
I greatly appreciate any help.

Re: Samurai question

130K miles is nothing for a Zuk except for engine.
Ask if engine as it been over hauled or reworked.
Engine life is 90K to 150K depends on oil change & care

4wd T-case shifter stick is casued by a small plastic
rubber shift guide called "sheet" easy fix search this
board key word "sheet" and or "stuck" and you get all
info you could want on this subject.

Do Vin number check history for flood, or wreck.
