performance modifications

I just put on a thorley header along with a high flow cat and a glass pack, and increased my exhaust to two inches. I am planning on adjusting my valves tonight after they are cooled. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as far as what else I can try to get more power out of my 1.3 tia...mike

Re: performance modifications

Did you notice any appreciable difference with the header and larger exhaust?

Re: performance modifications

yes there is a major difference it runs and sounds great. I have noticed an increase in get up and go so to speak. It will hum down the road pretty well now though I'm still looking in the 60's at top speed but before I could barely tap fifth gear so yes there is a big difference. The 2" works perfect and I routed it straight out the back, yes i have a convertible and no i don't catch fumes on backdraft.

Re: performance modifications

Mike,
By your top speed description, it sounds like you have increased your tire size considerably over stock, and are attempting to compensate w/ engine mods. Have you changed your gearing also? Dollar-for-dollar it is the most significant performance modification you can make.
