95 1.3L geo metro into SJ410

I was wondering if anyone has ever done this, and if its possible. Right now I have the stock 1L engine with a four speed tranny, and I want to know if I can drop the 1.3 litre in without an adapter plate.

Hi you will need the 1.3 gearbox it is not worth trying to fit the 1.3 engine to the 4 speed 410 box. If your 410 is a mk 1 then the gear box would not take the power. Is your 410 a mK1? If so you will need to modify the rear gearbox mounting, hole where the gear lever comes through, prop shaft and body around the gearbox. I was going to do this mod or fit a 5 speed gearbox in my 410 but in the end it was cheaper to buy a 413 complete.

Re: 95 1.3L geo metro into SJ410

Mk1 410 Suzukis were produced 1982 and 1983 in the English market. Mk1 has drum front brakes however they were so bad most fitted MK2 discs. If you look under your vehicle at the rear gearbox mounting if it is a Mk1 then there are two extensions coming forward from the cross member to pick up the rear gearbox mounting. On the MK2 an extension bolted to the gearbox carries the rear mounting to the cross member.

Hope this helps. Gordon in England.
