Thinking of going to auto tranny

I'm going to upgrade to a 1.6L engine in the new future.
I was wondering how hard it would be to shove a sidekick auto tranny in?
What kind of fabrication is involved?
What year should I look for?
Does it need to be Sidekick or will Tracker do?

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

Thanks,
Shawn

Re: Thinking of going to auto tranny

Hey Shawn,
I was looking into the same thing you are not too long ago. I was thinking about using the 1.6 with a 2wd auto tranny hooked up to the stock t/c. I talked in length with a guy at Hawk zuk, and Brent at Trail Tough. I found out that I would have to relocate the t/c for ease of installation, and a ton of other work. Since my zuk is also my daily driver, I couldn't have it down that long. The fab work is not the problem for me, that is easy, but the down time involved won't let me do it. I'm just going to have to stick with the stock 5 speed behind the 1.6... Thats my situation, never have tried it. Call Hawk, they can give you a ton of info on that swap...
