homemade 2wd frontendd

setting up a sammy for tuff truck, arena racing.looking at fabricating a solid axle for the front by using 3" steel pipe, and cutting the axle housing ends and rewelding them to the 3" pipe.Weld leaf perches to the pipe and relocate the steering to the center of the vehichle.(I want to lighten up the front end for jumps and center the drivers weight.)Any comments no matter how good or bad are welcome.Drive it like you stole it
