2 Signifigant Negatives:
#1 Rear chunk is centered. I've seen a modified stock Samurai drive shaft hold up to Substantial Abuse & work. I went with a front Toyota CV shaft. Driveline angle is pretty severe-- I wouldn't want to do 80 with it
#2 In stock form the Toyota axle assemblies are noteably wider than the Samuria ones-- by Several inches. You Cannot use negative-offset wheels to move your tires back in-- the brake calipers & steering up front will not allow it.

Another thing to consider is that the Toy axles are easily twice the weight of the Suzuki stuff= more power to turn 'em, but no prob w/ a V6.

These issues were not a factor for me since my rig is primarily off-road anyway.
I've bashed mine pretty hard & I don't know if a Samurai can hurt them. However, if you go with a 4.3L V6, I'd think you will find the t-case the next weak link if you're hard on your truck.

Tim J

the diff being centered is true unless you use land cruiser front and rear.
since i am presently doing this swap, so far im not sure it is worth all the trouble.

...Yeah, the LandCruiser axles will work alright-- usually cost prohibitive to obtain, and gears, lockers, Etc. are more expensive, too.

If you want an all out break down, mail me at [email protected]. I've got some pics of my rig on 35 15.5 sx's with Toyota truck axles. They arn't quite double the weight, course, I'm running a 350 so it didn't matter. I used a Toyota tcase also...let me know...
