Fitting Ford Pinto Engine

Hi
Help Anyone ever fitted a 2 litre Ford OHC Pinto engine into a SJ413 using the 413 gear box. I live in England and have a friend who wants to try the mod but needs to know where to get an adoptor plate to connect engine to gear box.

Godon.

Re: Fitting Ford Pinto Engine

There used to be available a conversion for putting a Pinto motor in a Jeep but
I've never heard of anyone swapping one into a Samurai.

Get another Zuk motor. I've had two Pinto's and the motors really suck. They don't have much power and break often. Just my experience.

Re: Fitting Ford Pinto Engine

my little brother had a ' 70 pinto with a 1.6 english push rod engine. first year. it was great but gutless. there were the 2.3 ford us engines, that went junk when they popped a tim belt, which no one checked, because they didn't know what one was back then, and then there was the german 2.0. sweet engine. people went for the 2.3 because it was larger, but the 2.0 was the one to get. would be real interesting to hear about a 2.0 in a samurai.
