New rattle

Just went out and started my sami and it has a new rattle. Sounds like a loose heat shield or something. Appears to be coming from under side but can't seam to locate it. I'm afraid it may be something bad because it doesn't appear to be external. Any idea what it may be?
Thanks

Re: New rattle

My catalytic converter (sp?) rattles like crazy. I think all the internal "stuff" has busted loose.

Does the rattle change tone if you rev the engine up and down?

Just a guess......good luck finding it.

Re: New rattle

my cat used to rattle too. it was the external heat shield on mine. i reached under there with a long screwdriver and pried it away from the welds a bit. problem solved. maybe your's is just as easy.

Re: New rattle

Thanks for the reply. I'm kinda hoping it's the cat. That's about where the noise is coming from. Didn't realy get the chance to check it out very much had to take the ol'lady to the store. I'll check the cat tomorrow.
Thanks again.
