Re: hybrid rear axle housing

Hey Slowpoke!
Hows it going?? I don't know exactly what your talking about by the term "hybrid" housing. If your talking about Brents custom housings that allow you to use the kick/tracker third member, I do know what your talking about. Just never heard it called that before. I got one in my sammy. Never had problems with a stock housing or 3rd member in the past, but I figured I wanted 5:12 gears and decided upgrade and get the extra stregnth. Got my housing form Brent.(trail tough) I love it. Never had any problems. I'm not a expert by any means, but it looked like a good job. Went together with NO PROBLEMS at all. I strongly recomend it if you want to upgrade to a kick/tracker 3rd member...

Just my opinion1

Re: hybrid rear axle housing

I know several trucks that keep the stock housing and just put the tracker gears in.The 5.12 gears from a tracker and sidkicks will match up perfectly to your stock housing.unless your looking for alot of extra external strength the stock housing is perfect.depends on what year sammy you have you might have to swap out the spider gears.88 and prior have a slightly smaller axle than 88.5 and up.But thats really not a big deal if your locking it up you'll have evrything already out swap spider gears and lock it up at the same time.
