valve seals

My neighbor, who has an 88 Sam, wants to change out the valve seals in the head. He thinks he can do this without removing the head. Is that possible? Have any of you tried this before? I told him to remove the head and do the whole job. Only takes a hour, at most, to remove it.

Re: valve seals

I did mine on the block, just have to make sure piston is at top dead center and use a screw driver to hold valve up when reattaching retainers, or if you have access to air use it to hold valves up. But it can be done.
