Which is better for off-road: \'87 or 94 drivetrain gearing?
I have a '94 and just got a '87 junker. I'm planning on running a Rockcrawler-type transfer and 31's. I know that the front axle on the '87 has a 4-pin carrier, which is more desirable opposed to the 2-pin on the '94 if I wanna run a front locker. Besides that, what should I take off the '87 and put on the '94? Is the tranny on the '87 geared better for taller tires?

Put your 87 carrier into your 94 3rd member to install a locker up front. If you plan on running an ARB locker, it doesn't matter as the carrier is replaxced altogether anyway. http://www.rocky-road.com |
