full floater rear end concerns

I checked out the full floater rear end on the Spidertrax page. It looks pretty cool....But how much stronger are sidekick parts than Samurai parts (bearings and stuff)

Also it said that I could use my sami locker in the sidekick diffs, didn't people have trouble with that in the past?

I really want one, but have mixed feelings about spending a grand on a suzuki rear end.

You cannot run a Samurai locker in a Sidekick rear end. The Sidekick uses a much large carrier, it won't work.

Re: full floater rear end concerns

I know what you mean. I would love to get a full-floater rear. But as I see it, at 17 years old, whats the point in spending a $1000 on a $1000 car?
As for Sidekick parts, I beleive that they are stronger than Samurai parts because of the way that they are built. As for the locker, the Samurais wont fit in a Sidkick. But LockRight does make a locker of the Kicks.

and thats exactly why if you read carefully on the spidertrax page, it says that you can use a samurai locker if you replace the carrier....

Re: full floater rear end concerns

the part number for the samuari and tracker locker, without sidegears, is the same- #1510 -so it must work

Re: full floater rear end concerns

It's not the locker itself, its the side coupler gears (according to the Suzuki dealership). They are different between the two, so they say.

I wonder if the sidekick locker is a sami locker, but requires that kick side gears be changed over to either a sami side gear or some thing else that matches up to the sami locker.

Did I make any sinse?
