Just checkin in

Hey guys!
Just wanted to drop a line and say hey. Life here in the sand box is just fine. It's so great I can't wait to get home! To tell you the truth, I miss my sammurai! I have been spending all my free time in the metal shop here making mods for my HUMVEE. Racks and gun mounts everywhere! Looks like something from Mad Max! I need to take a few pics and post them. The cool thing is we now have Super Swampers on the thing. The bad thing is they dig in the sand way too much. But the cool factor over rides having to dig the thing out. ;D Anyway, y'all take care and hope to see you soon. Later!

Art

Hey Art! I figured you find a way to feed the 4x4 need over there.

Have fun and stay safe.

Re: Just checkin in

howdy,
art keep up the good work, and get back here in one piece. and i'm not saying that because i need the gears. i'm saying it because i count you as a freind. ok done with the sappy crap.
hows the weather? colder than crap here, and the overtime is getting out of hand.
i have a humvee but it runs on 9.6 volts and is made by tamiya and not A.M. General.

Hey man,
I've got a good friend over there with the same address as you. He's from the same place as me, triple nickel.
If you run into him tell him I said "hey"

Re: Just checkin in

Hey fellas! Thanks for the replys. The weather isn't all that warm yet. Next month (April) we start tanning As far as feeding the 4x4 need I have that covered with the HUMVEE. I was running about 50 across the open desert and "accidently" hit a small dune. Damn neer everything flew out of the thing on landing. Gotta tie that stuff down! Anyway, I need to post a pic of the thing. It is too cool!!

Matt, I PM'd ya on POR. I met your cousin. Cool Guy!!!

Re: Just checkin in

Doug, he is talking about ODA 555. ODA as in Operational Detachment Alpha 555. It's an SF A-Team from 5th Special Forces Group.

Re: Just checkin in

I would like to see the flying Hum-V pic.

I'm sure the visual I'm getting is more humorous though.

Guns, ammo boxes, misc stuff, guys hanging on for dear life, and you driving with a sinister grin.
Too funny.

Re: Just checkin in

Sure, you guys have all the fun with those damn 998's, then us Ordnance guys get to crawl under 'em and bitch for 8 hours wondering how the heck sand got everywhere and get 'em serviceable again Best one I ever saw was when I was changing the drivers front composite light on a Hummer, pulled it off, it was so full of sand I almost dropped it when I got the last bolt loose. That thing has a 1" hole in the back with a plate covering it - - how the heck do you get sand in there?! Oh well, at least you're making the best of it. Take care, watch out, might see you soon.
