Click, click click

Often when i wanna stat up my sammi, turn the key and hear click and no go. Do i do it again and again and again and finaly she will fire up. I don't know what is causing this. All my connections are tight and it's a new starter. Got any ideal?

Re: Click, click click

I've got the same problem with mine whens it's cold.
I wish I new and I would fix it. I don't thinks it's anything to do with the starter itself.

Re: Click, click click

It's the starter solenoid. Some people replace it with a firewall mounted Ford type. Pull and clean it. Lube
it with a marine grease.
Also and "my soap box", check battery cables and all grounds. Frame to engine, body to engine, body to
frame. All should be #8 or larger (lower number larger wire). Crappy grounds = crappy problems.

Re: Click, click click

I think it's something to do with the switch. Sometimes when I switch mine off it dosn't stop running immediately.

Re: Click, click click

This is a commmon problem with Zuks. What you need is a starter relay. You can get one for $25 through any Zuke vendor, or just buy the relay for about $3 at the auto parts store and wire it yourself.
If you do a search for "starter relay" you can find a wiring diagram someone posted a while back.
