Need a 4.10 gear set for a Zuk axle

I have a Yota rear axle that has 4.10 gears. I would like to match the front to the rear. I feel 4.57's would be too low. I read somewhere that they are available.

Anybody have a set? Or know where to get some?

Thanks

CC,
The SJ410's have 4:11's and MIGHT work with different side gears, maybe. Your best bet is to give
Hawk a call and I'll bet he could tell you.

Re: Need a 4.10 gear set for a Zuk axle

cooter, in addition to sj410s, some of the early model canadian samurais they came with the 4:10 or 4:11 gear ratio in the stock samurai carrier. to the best of my knowledge these were from suzuki wide track axles....the same as our samurais here in the states. every once in a while some one puts a set on ebay for sale..and they are always from canada.

maybe one of the canadians on this board can verify this info and even might know where to find a set.

I don't mind doing the complete setup. I just need the gears. So the ring and pinion will fit my third member housing? I will check with Hawk and some others.

Thanks

Tony

How about 4.30s? We have one, and you can swap in 4.30s into the Toy axle. Best bet and lower gears!

Re: Need a 4.10 gear set for a Zuk axle

4.1 gears were only offered in SJ-410s. These gears are not compatible with Samurai/SJ-413 axles.

The closest ratio available would be either 3.90 from an earlier CDN spec Samurai or the 4.30 ratio from the new trucks.

Re: Need a 4.10 gear set for a Zuk axle

Yankee: Are those gears from a Kick? If so I would need a diff can too. And then I only have the 2-pinion case in the front right now, so I should swap the original rear case to the front too.

I was hoping to only buy 1 set of gears, but if I can get them for a reasonable price It would be worth it.

Another option would be to get 3.73's for the yota axle and 4.89 gear set for the T-case. Then I could give my 4.16 gearset to my wife's sammy.

I think getting some of the load off the T-case and mounts would be a little better.

How much would you want for the gears?

Re: Need a 4.10 gear set for a Zuk axle

I have one set of 4.30s from a Kick. Since the 2-pin carrier in a Kick is the same as the one in a Sammy, no can or spacer is needed

I have another set of 4.30's from a GV and they do not require a can or spacer for the 4-pin carrier, which is good if you'll be installing a locker someday.

I also have a complete set of 4.88's from a GV, and the Toys can be geared to 4.88. But that set stays together.

Kick 4.30s = $150
GV 4.30s = $200
GV 4.88s = $450 for both

I can tear the diffs down and ship just the R&P to save weight if you want.
