I'm installing my new Pioneer Deck. I bought it on Boxing day for a pretty good price, because I needed to something to listen to. When I got my Samurai, it had a cheap cheap deck in it, and the faceplate had been stolen to boot. I cut that out months ago to save weight . When I was cutting it out, I just cut the wires. Now I'm installing my new deck I don't really see a use for these 3 wires, so can you tell me what they're for?
Heres the wires I need to know the purpose of, its the three that go off to the right. White with a green stripe, red with a yellow stripe, and white with a dark (brown, black, or navy blue??) stripe.
The location is the bottom left of the hole for the stereo.
And heres what the finished product will look like.
Now I have to figure out how the heck Im gonna mount that thing solid in there.
Its just too damn cold to go outside now and take a look for you, but I will check them out first thing in the morning and let you know what I find out. Thought about mounting it flush in the dash? Or even in the glove box?
This is what we need. Someone with a press brake or a lot of time to start bending us up radio boxes. then weld tabs in the rear, and cut very small holes for dowels in the front, insert the dowel when installed, and Viola! a theft deterent radio box in a convertible...heck I maght even fab one up.
maybe it goes to the optional power antenna or the amplifiers if your sammi had the optional premium sound system. could also be to the optional navigation system. hehehe
if you have a pre 88.5 dash it is no problem use a 30 cal ammo can water and dust proof as well needs slight shifter mods to work properly and the box needs to be made deeper i got one in my suzuki and am building one for my car since some one stole the old stereo i am going to make it harded (alot)to steal the new one
